What makes you different?
I founded emilie inc. photography in 2003 — 13 years ago! — after working as a photographer and photo editor with USA Today and The Washington Post. It’s this training and connection to telling stories that developed my candid, fly-on-the-wall approach to photographing your wedding and capturing the truth and emotion of the day in a timeless way.
What do most couples choose for their coverage?
Most couples book an 8-hour package with a second photographer and either a wedding album or their digital images. I will work with you to create the best package for your day (or weekend!). After your wedding, I’m here to help you find the best way to showcase your images in your home or give as gifts.
We’re having an intimate wedding or elopement, do you have a package for us?
Yes! My 6-hour package is the perfect fit if you’re having a smaller guest list and don’t need a full day of coverage. I also offer a package for weekday elopements.
Do you recommend a second photographer?
Whenever possible, yes, yes, yes! A second shooter is a great way to get an alternate angle of your wedding day. While I have photographed many weddings solo, I recommend that you consider adding a second photographer to your coverage if your guest list creeps over 100 or if you have multiple venues and logistics to consider (e.g., you are getting ready in different locations or want to travel to a first look location). Then again, I’ve photographed an elopement with two photographers, so many times it just comes down to personal preference.
Will you take traditional formals?
Of course! Your formal portraits will be the classic images that your family will frame, share, and show to future generations. I promise I’ll make it short and sweet.
Should we book an engagement session?
An engagement session is the perfect way to break the ice, get to know each other (me and you, I’d hope the two of you already know each other!) and practice being in front of the camera before your wedding.
I heard something about a photo booth?
Maine Snapshot Studio! Your guests will love being able to instantly share their photo booth snaps on social media, and you’ll love seeing the candid photos of your family and friends.
Do your packages include digital images?
I put everything on the table and let YOU decide what you’d like to include in your photography package. Some couples choose to order an album (artfully crafted by our in-house designer) while others prefer to purchase their digital images on a USB flash drive.
When will we be able to see our wedding photos?
While you’re enjoying your honeymoon, I’ll be going through all of your images and carefully selecting the best ones to tell your story. You’ll receive a link to your gallery less than a month after your wedding day, typically within 2-3 weeks!
I’m ready to book!
I’m thrilled! To make it official, you just need to let me know which options you’d like in your custom package. I’ll then email you a proposal for you to review, approve, and e-sign! A retainer payment of 50% of the total is due at the time of booking.
