I'm one of the rare 'togs who tagged photography as my passion and career direction in high school and chased it — hard — through college at Syracuse University (go, Orange!) where I was the daily newspaper photography editor and studied abroad with Nat Geo demigod Ed Kashi.

My next move was landing a gig at USA Today where my first assignment was at the White House and rubbing elbows with celebs at press ops and on sidelines was a daily occurance. I've conversed with the director of the CIA over coffee in his office (hands-down the most intimidating assignment ever), Oprah in her green room (spoiler alert: she's not very friendly), presidents on planes (that press corps knows how to have fun!), and beauty queens (Miss America does actually have cellulite like the rest of us).

The trajectory of my career made a steep pivot after covering 9/11 and the DC sniper attacks when I was a photo editor at the Washington Post; I started documenting weddings and families on my days off as a way to fill my cup with love and joy. You can probably guess what happened next!

A lover of deadlines and attention to detail, I thrived in the pursuit of entrepreneurship and discovered an unexpected right brain/left brain dream job in running my own creative business. I decided on Portland, Maine, as my home base to grow this new venture where my DC credentials proved popular and the landscape for photos more desirable.

I adored the challenge of scaling my services to include a team encompassing not just associate photographers but also graphic design and multimedia, two Old Port locations, workshops, a daily regional wedding inspiration blog, photo booth, and a 501(c)(3) non-profit in the breast cancer space. Life was FULL.

Then I became a mom and my world's axis shifted yet again. I found myself living in the moment more than ever and recognizing my most precious resource and theme of nearly all of my professional work — time — was racing by before my very eyes as my children don't stop growing despite my pleas.

Today my children are not only my heartbeat but my muses and whereby I pool all of the TLC I bring to each and every one of you at every milestone we are capturing. I accept a limited 10-12 wedding commissions per season and as much family and corporate work as there are bright days outside of being Vice President at Legacy Properties at Sotheby's International Realty.
