I founded Emilie Inc. in 2003 after working as a photographer and photo editor with USA Today and The Washington Post. I’ve documented presidents (plural!), major news events and championships, celebrities and small town heroes. It’s this training and connection to telling stories that developed my candid, fly-on-the-wall approach to photographing events and portraits in a truthful, timeless way. I’m also a pretty awesome person to have around: kind, helpful (I've photographed more than 400 nuptials!), punctual, professional and fun.

Simply put, there is no wrong time for a family session (unless we meet during nap time and on an empty stomach, lol). I encourage families not to wait to mark a major milestone or those last 10lbs lost or the landscaping project to finally be finished. Let's embrace the imperfection and capture it anyway; allow me to surprise you with the beauty of your connection. Otherwise:

- If you have a newborn, photographing within the first two weeks, at 6 months and 1 year is ideal.

- If you're vacationing in Maine, let's make a photo date an annual tradition.
